Externe Datierung: Wegen der fehlenden Kenntnisse zum Fundkontext ist das vorliegende Stück dem 3. bzw. frühen 4. Jh. n. Chr. (Periode C1b/C2) zuzuweisen, doch die jüngsten Untersuchungen zu Perldraht- und Preßblechvorkommen in kaiserzeitlichen Mooropfern Südskandinaviens und Schleswig-Holsteins könnten eher auf eine Datierung der Fibel in die erste Hälfte des 3. Jh.s (Periode C1b) hindeuten (Lund Hansen 1995, 143f.; 1998, 168; vgl. jedoch von Carnap-Bornheim/Ilkjær 1996, 394f.).
